battery tips

Hello all ,  just an in house tip that may help save you time, trouble and money. Last week we had a car that came in for a failed alternator. After alternater replacement it was found that the alternator was chargeing at maximum output and was getting "smokin" hot. Even though the battery looked newer it had an internal problem not allowing it to achieve a full charge. Just becouse a battery is newer does not mean it is ok. There are a lot of "cheaper" batteries out there and they just dont hold up. If your battery frequently needs jumps or is "sweating" get it tested, before it leaves you stranded or costs you an alternater.Another sighn is if your starter is cranking over slower than normal. If you suspect you have a problem or just want to be on the safe side come on by, we will check your battery at no charge, just mention the" blog". We carry "AC Delco batteries and they have proven to be nothing but a superior brand. No charge on installs as well.
